Privacy Policy

The short version

Without an account, your service records live on your device. When you sign in, they are stored in your account so you can see them on any device. We do not sell data, show ads, or track you.

Your car records — with and without an account

In the personal car-owner garage, cars, mileage readings, service records, schedules, photos of receipts and work, reminder settings and backups are stored on your phone or browser when you use the app without signing in. When you sign in, these records are uploaded to your account (existing records on this device are uploaded on first sign-in) and kept in sync, so you can view and edit them from any device. Your records are visible only to you. You control them with export, import and delete options in Settings; deleting all data also removes the account copies.

Phone notifications are created by the app on your device. Nothing is sent to a server to make them happen, and we never see your notification history.

If you create an account

You can use ServiceBook without an account. An account (email address, password, and a name or garage name) exists only for sharing features. Signing in with Google or Lovable shares your name and email with us through that provider.

When you link a car to a mechanic, we store the car's label (make, model, registration) and a connection code so the mechanic can propose reminders, plus your accept or decline decisions. Your service records and photos are still not uploaded.

Mechanic garage records

Mechanics who use the portal for customers that do not use the app store: customer name and mobile number, vehicle details (including registration, model year and chassis number when entered), car notes, odometer readings, service dates and notes, uploaded photos, receipts and PDF documents, messaging (SMS or WhatsApp) consent choices, and a log of reminders sent and their status. Garage uploads are stored privately online, separate from a car owner's on-device photos. This information belongs to the garage and is about the garage's own customer.

A garage can only see its own customers' records. When consent is withdrawn, pending SMS or WhatsApp reminders are cancelled.

Text message reminders

For customers who do not use the app, a garage may send service reminders by SMS or WhatsApp — only after the customer has given consent. The message goes through our messaging provider (and your mobile carrier for SMS, or WhatsApp/Meta for WhatsApp messages), who process it to deliver it to your phone. Message and data rates from your carrier may apply. Reply to the garage or contact them to stop the messages.

What we do not do

No advertising. No analytics or tracking tools. No location tracking. No data selling or sharing for marketing. No payments are taken inside the app today.

Deleting your data

On-device data: use "Delete all data" in Settings, or uninstall the app.

Sharing: "Stop sharing" removes the link between your car and the mechanic.

Account: sign out at any time; to delete your account and its cloud records, contact us using the developer contact details shown in the app store listing.
